Marriage
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave himself up for her.
- Ephesians 5:15
At its most basic level, marriage is a union between a man and a woman for the purpose of procreation and mutual love and support.
In order to receive the Sacrament of Matrimony in the Roman Catholic Church, at least one member of the bridal couple must be a baptized member of the Roman Catholic Church. In addition, the Catholic bride or Catholic groom should be practicing their faith by celebrating Sunday Eucharist faithfully and receiving the Sacraments (Eucharist and Reconciliation).
Marriage at Resurrection Parish
To allow for a thorough preparation for the Sacrament, there is an eight month preparation process required, prior to the wedding.
Catholics wanting to be married at Resurrection are expected to be registered members of the Parish (or have parents registered) for at least six months prior to beginning the Marriage Preparation Course.
We look forward to helping you during this of preparation for your new life together. For further information, please contact Father Brad Fahlman at 306-352-0988.
